- The straight forward method to remove the acrylic paint stains when you catch it while the paint is still wet. Start to wash the stained area with warm water then gently sponge it with a mixture of one part dishwashing liquid and warm water. Don’t use hot water as hot water because heat may set the paint on the fabric.
- On the stain, apply the laundry detergent and scrub it with brush don’t use brush forcefully, you can use an old toothbrush for this method. After this use wash your cloth in a washing machine.
- You can put your stained cloth into the washing machine with full-strength laundry detergent with warm water.
- When you get a stain on your shirt, try not to spread the acrylic paint on other areas. First, try to clean the excess paint, then you can easily handle the stain with warm water.
- When you paint you probably have a mug of water or water spray bottle, so when you get stain dip the stained part into the water then let it wash with detergent. Make sure that you keep the stain wet while you are working on it.

Does Acrylic Paint Wash off Wood and Plastic Surfaces?
Once acrylic paint has dried on a wood surface or plastic surface, it is difficult to remove, but there are some ways to get it off these kinds of surface.
- The first thing you should do after getting the stain, take a paper towel and clean water wipe the surrounding areas and the dried paint until it gets off completely.
- Take a towel and pour the vegetable oil onto it. Hold the towel against the stain for a minute. When the stain begins to lose then wipe the oiled towel on the stain until as much paint as come off, then clean the area with a dry clean towel.
- Acrylic paint is water-based, and it can remove easily from wood using various methods. You can remove both dry and wet paint using soap, warm water, rubbing alcohol, and a heat gun.
